Bus station in Atotxa, San Sebastian

Client: Municipality of San Sebastian.

In association with LKS Engineering.

The Atotxa area is going to change drastically in the coming years. The restoration of the Tabakalera building as a cultural centre will be joined by the transformation of the Estación del Norte to receive the high speed train line, the new public square over the tracks and the reconversion of the neighbouring block. The role of the bus station within the ensemble must fulfil two conditions:

First, the functional resolution of the bus station itself and its relationship with the Train Station, and with the City: pedestrian transit and traffic, urban buses, taxis, etc.

Second, its implementation must happen as naturally as possible, without taking the limelight, without becoming another milestone, in harmony with the rest of the operations planned in the area.
